Flow before you go to Buzz
16 December 2021Sometimes, there’s just too much important information to fit into one social media post!
As you probably know, our Buzz events are all about mingling online and face to face and have been since 2012. However, we’re also prioritising keeping people safe as much as possible while also helping them build their contacts and find new connections to protect their businesses as well.
With that in mind, I thought I’d write a little information about what to expect at our face to face events and more information about how we’re taking extra steps and the added precautions I take at my face-to-face events in Bedford, Milton Keynes and Biggleswade.

Questions?
Flow before you go
We have recently started promoting the #FlowBeforeYouGo campaign which is about encouraging people to take a flow test before going to an event or gathering.
You won’t be asked to show a COVID passport or proof of your lateral flow – it is simply a reminder and a polite request to take a test if you can.
Having said that…
Declaration on the door
Before we can sign you in, you will be asked to read our COVID declaration to self certify that you have not recently received a positive COVID-19 test and have not knowingly been exposed to an individual who has recently tested positive for COVID-19.
Contactless bookings – NO CASH
so all bookings must be made on the Buzz Booking app which is available for desktop, iOS and Android at https://app.business-buzz.org/
It’s really easy to sign up to our app too. Just click the sign up with Facebook or LinkedIn options at the top. Or enter your details in the registration.
There’s a lovely tutorial by Gill Gayk from gmgcoaching.co.uk to help you…
Track and Trace
The app is also used as our track and trace so we can easily contact everyone should we need to.
Capped Ticket Numbers
We are capping attendee numbers according to risk assessments at the venue, so you can still book for Buzz on the day, but we recommend that you purchase a ticket before starting your journey – just in case!
Face coverings
Masks are still optional in hospitality settings, and we recognise that some people prefer to wear them while others don’t. Whichever your choice, we support you.
Individually served/wrapped refreshments
I’ve made sure that at my events in Milton Keynes, Biggleswade and Bedford that all tea and coffee is individually served and snacks are individually wrapped or served by the venue staff to reduce the chance of other people touching your refreshments.
At Bedford, the lovely staff from the George and Dragon will serve you your drinks made to order and we offer snack bars that are individually wrapped. (Some of them are even healthy!)
At Milton Keynes we’ve always been lucky enough to have individually served cappuccinos, lattes and speciality teas and the staff are also serving their famous, homemade churros and brownies to order as well.
The Yorkshire Grey is also serving coffees to order with individually wrapped snack bars available there too.
We’re discouraging handshaking, but…
As we have been since we returned to face to face events in September, we ask attendees not to shake hands – elbow bumps are fun! Give it a try!
Social distancing
Remember to social distance. There’s plenty of space to move around each of my venues.
Sanitisation stations
I bring plenty of little bottles of hand sanitisers and place them around the room. Feel free to use them as regularly as you like.
